We are here to help you while you study. Contacting the right person to help solve any issues is a good place to start.

Throughout your studies, you will have access to a range of services including:

Your trainers are available to assist you with all things related to your course content and assessment. Your trainers are available through the forums (located at the end of each module) and through the platform messaging feature.

Your trainers will also hold weekly Live Q&A sessions. All information regarding the Live Q&A Session for your qualification can be found in the forum of each module. We ensure that we provide students with recordings of each Live Q&A session, should you be unable to attend live, which can be found in the ‘Additional Resources’ Forum Thread.

NOTE: All recordings are housed within the Module 1 Forum, under the thread titled ‘Additional Resources’.

Our friendly Student Services team are available to support students with all non-academic-based support needs. Within the Student Services team, we have a variety of different team members who support students throughout their journey. Student Services attempt to support students in cases of deferral, extension, tech queries and general requests, as well as ensuring a student’s personal details on file are up to date.

Student Services can be contacted from 9am – 6pm Monday – Friday via 1300 635 480. Students can also email student.services@soe.edu.au and will receive a response within 2 business days.

For any issues relating to accessing the Swinburne Open Education platforms or materials, please contact Student Support by phone 1300 635 480 (option 1).

Online study does not mean that you are alone, there is a community waiting to meet you within the student forums. Your peers are a great way to support you as you study and are your first step in networking to help you in your career.

We understand that our students have a variety of capabilities when it comes to studying, especially in the online space.  It is imperative that we ensure your needs are being met, and any relevant adjustments are made. We do this by determining your individual support needs and adjusting the learning content without altering the integrity of the course.

Do I need reasonable adjustment?

Some examples of needing reasonable adjustments include, but not limited to:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Psychiatric disabilities
  • Sensory disabilities
  • Neurological disabilities
  • Learning disabilities

Who do I contact regarding reasonable adjustment?

Upon enrolling with one of our Enrolment Consults, you will be asked a series of questions that assess your potential need for assistance with language, literacy and numeracy. Depending on your circumstances and/or the answers you provided within these series of questions, a further call with our Admissions Team will take place to evaluate what kinds of changes may need to be made in order to succeed within your course.

If there has been a sudden change in your personal circumstances, we encourage you to reach out directly to the Student Services team on 1300 635 480.
