The Bachelor of Business (Marketing), with the two nested exit qualifications (Diploma of Business and Associate Degree of Business), is designed to position graduates for success as a manager or director in Marketing industry. Every organisation in every industry requires business and marketing professionals, with skills to oversee the performance of teams, optimise marketing operations, develop marketing strategy and maximise a company’s potential for profit.

The course is underpinned by the Bachelor of Business core subjects with marketing specialised subjects and supplement by elective subjects which come from a range of business areas including business management and entrepreneurship. This allows students to choose any specialisation or combination of subjects they wish, to create a specialised business management degree in marketing therefore gives them a wide range of employment choices.

Due to the rapidly changing environment especially in the job market, the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) is focusing on future-proofing graduates with the graduate qualities and learning outcomes so that they can adapt and strive in their career progression.

The teaching of the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) integrates the practical experience of industry specialists with a more formal academic approach and lays the foundation of a coherent and cohesive body of understanding at the general business level.

The Bachelor of Business (Marketing) builds on the subjects completed at the Diploma and Associate Degree levels, with an additional three core subjects, two specialisation subjects and three electives subjects. In this Bachelor course, students complete one Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subject (WIL300, core professional placement components), at the end of their third-year study. The WIL subject is completed over a study period and provide students with a wealth of hands-on practical work experience.

Learning activities and forums

Learning activities and forum collaborations are not part of summative/graded assessments; however, they are designed to prepare you for incremental graded assessment and expand your learning. These activities encourage a community learning experience between peers and provide opportunities for facilitators to offer formative feedback to the student cohort.

Terminology

You will be exposed to a lot of terminology throughout this topic. We suggest you start a personal glossary of terms to ensure you can use this terminology correctly (and confidently). Because understanding academic writing is made much easier if you have a handle on the terminology, we have provided a glossary.
