Welcome to your next module - Process financial transactions and extract interim reports.
In this module, you will be presented with the knowledge required to understand the fundamentals of financial reporting and systems used to manage accounts.
The knowledge covered in this module is included but not limited to:
- Check and verify supporting documentation
- Prepare and process banking and petty cash documents
- Prepare and process payable and receivable invoices
- Prepare journals
- Update financial data and systems
- Prepare deposit facility and lodge flows
- Finalise trial balance and interim reports.
Throughout this module, you will be presented with activities for you to practice your knowledge and understanding before undertaking the assessment.
Xero
Throughout the course, including this module, you will be presented with the opportunity to learn and create in the online accounting software Xero. Practice activities will be presented for you to implement your skills and knowledge before attempting the assessment.
Case Study
Throughout this module and the assessment, you will assume the role of junior accountant for the company Ace Finance and Accounting.
Learning Checkpoint
After each topic, you will have the opportunity to engage with learning checkpoints. The learning checkpoints will provide step by step instructions on how to manually and in Xero, perform transactions. You also have the opportunity to test your knowledge and practice the step by step instructions. These learning checkpoints will provide information that you will be required to know when undertaking your assessment.
