Welcome to your next module - Set up and operate a computerised accounting system. 

In this module, you will be presented with the skills and knowledge required to establish, operate, and modify an integrated computerised accounting system. This is generally under supervision and encompasses processing transactions in the system, maintaining the system, producing reports, and ensuring system integrity.

Throughout the course, including this module, you will be presented with the opportunity to learn and create in the online accounting software Xero

Meet Michelle...

Michelle works in an accounting firm, Ace Finance, which is dedicated to corporate accounting. Her role as an accountant includes maintaining business and financial records for a range of clients across many different industry sectors. 

Her duties include:

  • Maintaining their client’s asset register.

  • Recording the general journal entries for balance day adjustments.

  • Preparing final general ledger accounts.

  • Preparing the end of period financial reports.

In this module, we will be following Michelle through these duties and conducting several scenario-based activities that simulate some of her real-life client financial reports.
